MATHEMATICAL WHOLENESS is not your average tutoring center.

We focus on healing past math trauma so that our children and adult students can step forth in confidence and flourish in the world of mathematics.

We always begin our work together by unpacking our math stories and what has brought us to the point of anger, frustration, shutdown, or complacency around the study of mathematics. From there, we begin to build a new math story that focuses on the beauty, creativity, connectedness, and relevance of mathematics.

We explicitly call out the variety of ways that a person can be mathematical and we work to cultivate our inner mathematician and grow in ways that we are not yet feeling whole. Our hope is that each individual is able to bring mathematical wholeness to the table in each mathematical endeavor they undertake.

Now I know that there is no such thing as a math person. Everyone is a math person, just with different ways of thinking about things.

“Initially math was daunting and confusing. It never seemed to make sense and I was too afraid of making mistakes to try to solve problems in new ways. However, as we progressed, I learned that mistakes are not something to fear but to be excited by because they gave me an opportunity to learn more deeply. Without that barrier, math became fun and I was able to fully enjoy the process.”
